For those of you that didn’t stumble onto this page by accident… Thank you for stopping by.
To start, my name is Destinee Tyler Scott, and I was born and raised in Washington, D.C. — Yes, that is the capital, and no, there is nothing super exciting about it. So, of course, when it came to applying to college, staying in D.C. wasn’t an option. So now, four years later, I’m going into my senior year at St. John’s University in Queens, New York.
Do you remember your senior year of high school? Applying for college, taking the SAT, choosing a major, etc… Well, if you remember any of that, then you know how stressful it can be. I was way in over my head throughout the entire process, but the one thing that never got to me was declaring a major. — I knew I wanted to study journalism. It was no question for me. As a child, I remember writing about lots of different things. I remember how happy it made me feel when I got to read my own words or watching someone else read it. I admit, I did fall off of writing for a while, but when it comes down to it, writing is still a huge part of me. So huge that I’m going to do whatever it takes to make a career out of it.
This is why I created this blog. It gives me the chance to make up for all the days of writing that I’ve missed. It will also allow me to find and establish my voice.
As I begin this blogging journey, I want to thank everyone that supports me and supports this blog.
